In Memoriam

James Edward Duffy

March 10, 1939 – November 23, 2024
James E. “Mr. Duffy” Duffy, 85, of Chancellorsville, VA, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024. A proud Army veteran with the luck of the Irish and a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he dedicated his life to service. After retiring from Virginia Power, he founded Guardian Angels and Food Pantry Saint Patrick’s Parish in Fredericksburg, Virginia, tirelessly supporting the working poor. He was truly a guardian angel to many families not only at St. Patrick’s, but also to the broader Fredericksburg community. Each morning during the school year, you would find him greeting the school children as they walked in the door at St. Patrick’s elementary school each morning. And, if it was your birthday, Mr. Duffy knew it and would pass along a dollar.
